Transformers 2: A Two Hour Boredom Explosion

Here’s a 90 second review of Tranformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen that comes out on DVD today from TylerDFC.  Fun Fact:  One of the bonus features reveals that Optimus Prime is a CGI recreation of Micheal Bay’s ego.

Now you too can be bored out of your mind watching every thing on screen explode for 2.5 hours!   Admittedly, there were a few cool bits.  Here’s a quick recap of the pros and cons about this fine Michael Bay film.

 

Pros:

The opening sequence.

N.E.S.T. is a cool idea (but we see them in action a grand total of once.)

“Gremlins” style appliance attack.

The forest fight.

Anytime Optimus Prime, Starscream, or Megatron do or say anything (this happens far less than you would think).

“What if we leave, and you’re wrong?” is admittedly a pretty cool line with great delivery.

The old bomber style Transformer.

Ball bearing transformer nano-bot thing.

 

Cons:

Every non military human character.

The 2 jive talking, gold tooth having, retarded ghetto Autobots.

Balls on Devastator.

The ending goes on for an hour, and is then resolved with a stabbing.

Story is incoherent and various plot threads go nowhere.

Megan Fox speaks.

The Autobots are engaged in genocide against the Decepticons at the start of the movie. Quite literally hunting them down out of hiding and killing them. This is never explored.

Scenes with multiple Transformers devolve into streaks of shiny metal, random colors, and a billion sparks and explosions every second. It is near impossible to figure out who is who during battle scenes.

This is the #1 movie of the year. Heaven help us.
